IOG, EMURGO, and the Cardano Foundation have announced the selection of participants for workshops centered around discussing CIP-1694, a proposal for an on-chain decentralized governance mechanism in Cardano’s Voltaire Era. The competition for selection was fierce, with a remarkable 75 applications received from various locations worldwide, including North America, LATAM, and Africa.
The Voltaire Era, a visionary phase of Cardano, aims to establish a decentralized and democratic network through a voting system and treasury. Participants will utilize their stakes and voting rights to shape the network’s development, fostering transparency and inclusivity for long-term sustainability.
From May to July, in-person workshops will be conducted in over 20 global locations, granting attendees an exclusive chance to connect, exchange ideas, and collaborate with their local Cardano communities. Additionally, more than 25 virtual workshops will enable individuals who cannot attend in person to actively participate.
Charles Hoskinson, the mastermind behind Cardano, expressed his belief that the Voltaire Era will exemplify decentralized management execution, similar to the successful implementation of staking on Cardano. The selection of workshop candidates signifies a significant step forward for the Cardano community in realizing this vision.
The workshops will primarily focus on exploring the latest advancements proposed in CIP-1694, emphasizing on-chain governance. With these events, Cardano sets out to lead by example, showcasing to the wider cryptocurrency industry how decentralized management can be effectively achieved.
