Gemini Boosts Indian Presence with $24 Million Investment in Technology Hub Expansion

Gemini is set to inject $24 million into its technology and development facility in India. The investment will primarily target the engineering hub and development center located in Gurgaon, Pravjit Tiwana, the CEO APAC & Global CTO at Gemini, said in an announcement.

The company’s Center for Crypto and Technology Innovation, situated in Gurgaon’s Cyber Hub, currently employs over 70 individuals.

India has long been regarded as a hub for bar-raising talent by the world’s top technology companies, and we are thrilled to share that we are deepening our investment in the country. Over the next two years, we plan to invest INR 200 crore ($24 million) to grow our development center in Gurgaon,” Tiwana stated.

Gemini, founded by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, intends to leverage its India technology center to innovate and develop products and services across engineering, design, and operations for a global customer base.

The Gurgaon-based teams will focus on core platform fundamentals, including compliance, data pipelines, warehousing, security, and payments. Currently employing around 70 individuals, Gemini aims to increase its headcount in Gurgaon to over 150 in the next two years.

Gemini’s recent announcement also highlighted active recruitment efforts for key roles in software engineering, technical product management, talent acquisition, finance, compliance, and support.

In April, Gemini disclosed the launch of its engineering center in India, emphasizing its goal to create products and services that advance financial, creative, and personal freedom through crypto and Web 3 innovation.
