Bitcoin Payments App Strike Goes Global, Expanding to Over 65 Countries

Strike, a prominent digital and bitcoin payments service provider, is taking its app to new horizons by expanding its services to over 65 countries worldwide. The announcement was made by Strike CEO Jack Mallers during his keynote speech at the Bitcoin 2023 conference held in Miami Beach, Florida, media reports said.

Currently operating in the United States and El Salvador, Strike is set to disrupt global payments and cross-border money transfers by utilizing Bitcoin and Lightning, a secondary network designed for faster and more affordable bitcoin transactions. With its latest expansion, Strike aims to tap into emerging markets in Africa, Latin America, Eastern Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean, spanning from Antigua and Barbuda to Vanuatu and Zambia.

To enhance the user experience, the Strike app has undergone a significant transformation, featuring a brand new user interface that offers a seamless onboarding process. Users now have the added functionality of holding funds in both bitcoin (BTC) and tether (USDT), providing them with greater flexibility and control over their digital assets.

This expansion catapults Strike’s potential reach to nearly 3 billion individuals, as the company sets its sights on its ultimate goal of serving the entire global population, estimated to be 7 to 8 billion people.

Manuela Rios, Strike’s vice president of product, highlighted the company’s commitment to delivering a top-notch user experience, noting the meticulous effort put into designing the app’s interface. Rios emphasized that the app’s aesthetics and functionality were carefully crafted to meet the high standards expected in the United States, while recognizing the need to enhance the user experience for individuals downloading the app from abroad.
