The world’s most popular adult movie platform Pornhub has added a new payment method on its site as users can now pay for Pornhub services with the Tether (USDT) stablecoin. Users can do so via the TRON Wallet application, accessible on both Android and iOS systems, according to Yahoo Finance.
The catalyst for this launch of a new payment method was due to PayPal canceling its contract with Pornhub as a payment intermediary two months ago. PayPal used to facilitate the payment functions on the site, for example when users wish to make monetary donations to actors/actresses, causing both the site and its content creators to lose stream of revenue.
This drove Pornhub to find a new method to receive user payments. In selecting a new payment option, Pornhub required a convenient, simple and user-friendly alternative, which led the company to select USDT, one of three other new payment options Pornhub has added to the site.
“Pornhub is using USDT-TRON to support models seeking payment solutions,” Justin Sun, CEO of TRON, said in a tweet. “This is a brilliant way to support the victims of centralized payment platforms like PayPal.”
