Ripple Appoints Former Obama White House Official to Lead U.S. Public Policy

Lauren Belive, a former member of the White House team during President Barack Obama’s administration, has joined Ripple as the head of U.S. public policy and government affairs. In her new role, Belive will take the lead in Ripple’s engagement with Washington and national policy matters, ensuring that Ripple not only participates in these discussions but also actively contributes with clarity and a clear sense of purpose, she announced on LinkedIn.

“I am thrilled to share that I have taken on a new challenge as the Head of U.S. Public Policy and Government at Ripple. In a time where technology meets finance, Ripple stands at the forefront of revolutionizing the cross-border payments sector. As we navigate this transformative journey, engagement is pivotal. My role will be to lead our engagement in Washington and nationally, ensuring that we are not only part of the conversation but driving it forward with clarity and purpose,” Belive said in a post on LinkedIn.

Before joining Ripple, Belive served as the Director of Government Affairs at SoftBank Group International, and prior to that, she held the position of Head of U.S. Government Relations at Zoom. Her career began at the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, where she worked during Rep. Henry Waxman’s tenure as chair. During her time at the Obama White House, she served in the Office of Legislative Affairs and also contributed to President Obama’s campaign.

“With regulatory landscapes evolving, it’s paramount that we advocate for policies that not only support the crypto industry but also the countless individuals and businesses that could benefit from these advancements,” Belive emphasized.
